My client is a major player in the MOD/Defence contracts arena and they currently have an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager. Experience of contracting to the MOD and familiarity with standards, terminology and accreditation is essential. Candidates should possess the following: Qualified in a relevant area to degree level, or alternatively HNC/HND qualifications plus significant experience in a relevant industrial / project engineering environment; Experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment; A sound working knowledge of Project Risk Analysis and Management techniques, (consistent with the PRAM methodology published by the UK APM); Excellent contract, subcontract and commercial management skills, and an awareness of legal implications within a project; Technical understanding of the activities and technology of the relevant business unit, with demonstrable corporate awareness; Ability to credibly communicate with project team members, clients and superiors at all levels and in all areas of management; Leadership and teamwork skills to ensure the effective and cohesive functioning of a matrix structured, geographically distributed (nationally / internationally) project team; Ability to chair/facilitate team and client meetings effectively. Desirable attributes: Able and willing to work flexible hours both abroad and in the UK when necessary; APM Practitioner/Project Manager; PRINCE II Practitioner.
